What's Inside
This tool bundles four related sub-calculators, reached from the panel above:
- Boiling Point at Vacuum: solves the Antoine equation, Tb = B / (A − log₁₀P) − C, for the boiling temperature at your applied vacuum.
- Heat Load & Recovery Time: how much heat duty and how much time a batch recovery will take. Also reachable directly at the Heat Load & Recovery Calculator.
- Condenser Sizing: duty and area estimate for the recovery condenser.
- Vacuum Pump Capacity: required pump capacity for the vacuum level and vapor load.
Example
Toluene (A = 6.95087, B = 1342.31, C = 219.187, P in mmHg) at 100 mmHg: Tb = 1342.31 / (6.95087 − 2.0) − 219.187 ≈ 52°C, against 110.6°C at 760 mmHg.
Engineering Notes & Assumptions
Antoine coefficients are compound-specific and only valid over the temperature/pressure range they were fitted to. Very high vacuum or near-critical conditions can fall outside that range. Always sanity-check the returned boiling point against a known reference point for the solvent before using it for equipment sizing.
